B3n patch library.

So, after messing around with my new zoom b3n i wanted to create an aggressive, clear sound with a little bit of that metallic sound of Justin Chancellor from Tool.
I tested it with 3 different basses.
A squier precision with flat strings 50-105
A cort action plus with nickel strings 45-105
A warwick rockbass std streamer with nickel strings 45-105
i used:

MB Comp:
Comp:70, LoTHR:50, HiTHR:50, Vol:25

Bass Pre:
Bass:0, Mid:3, Treble:2, Vol:50

Splitter:
FreQ:125, Lo:60, Hi:36, Vol:50

EBH360:
Bass:2.5, MID-F:630, MID:0.0, Treble:0.0, BRGHT:30, Drive:30, Vol:25, Chara:0.5 (both units ON)

EB4x10TW:
DYN20:70, DYN57:85, Bottom:44, Bal:100

If you want a more "clanky" sound raise the Character from the EBH360
I got a nice metal sound with the cort bass.
With the Squier P i think it was exactly the sound i had in my mind. Aggressive, clanky but also darker because of the flat strings i suppose.
With the warwick rb it was much darker and muddier because of the humbuckers and i didnt like it so much.
Maybe with a jazz bass will sound better
I will try and use some overdrive with this patch to see if i can get a more progressive metal perhaps sound.
Tell me what you think or what tweaks you did with this patch to make it sound like what you had in mind...

I have another one patch today.
I wanted a rock sound with a little grit for a 4 piece hard rock band i play, so after dealing with the effects on the zoom i think i found something that could be useful.
i used:
MB Comp:
Comp:60, LoTHR:60, HiTHR:55, VOL: 40

CloneChorus:
Depth:2, Rate:10, Tone:10, Mix:30

Room Reverb:
PreD:20, Decay:20, Mix:45, Tail:ON

AMPEG SVT:
Bass:0.0, Mid-F:500, Mid:3.0, Treble:0.0, Gain:30, Ultra:Low, Vol:60 SOLO 2 (Both slots ON)

SVT 8x10 Cab:
DYN20:65, DYN57:65, Bottom:45, Bal:50

I use this with a squier precision bass with flat strings on
I have the chorus and the svt cab OFF when i play to have that rock sound with a little overdrive (better if you use pick)
and i activate them when i want a little more warm bassy sound.

I have trouble updating the firmware version on my B3n. After having wired my B3N and my Mac using a USB cable, I power the unit keeping the FS1 and FS2 footswitches, as described in the manual.
I see the first screen, from there nothing happens:( I am running a macbook Pro (2012), OSX 10.13.3 High Sierra.

Hi, guys. I'm not into effects usually, but I could use a few soon. We are putting together a cover show for Soda Stereo band which was HUGE in Latin America in the late 90s and early 00s. Most of the times I play with my only SansAmp BDDI always on. Almost clean. I had Darkglass Vintage Overdrive and I used it mostly to add just a tiny bit of drive and volume. Kind of like a boost. Unfortunately, it's gone now :(

Anyways, I wonder if I can use B3n to replicate the bass tone from some of the songs.
Like this one:

or another (especially in the outro after 2:30) :

Any ideas what bass player was actually using?

Thanks.

Roundabout by Yes. Does anyone have a patch or any ideas? I realize it is a Ric. I can get the Ric sound with my Variax 705 bass. My experiments seem to be missing the lower-frequency growl. I don't have much experience with effects and pedals, so for me, getting started is a long tedious trial and error. I don't even have an idea of which devices/effects would work best. Thanks.

In the meantime, here's a patch idea I came up with mentally. this patch closely duplicates the killer grinding sounds from the alice in chains song stone.

a.i.c grind

znr: detect: efxln, thresh: 20, decay: 25?

Darkpre: bass: 50, lomid: 45, himid: 25, treble: 40, blend: 50, drive: 50, volume: 80, boost: lo+hi

svt: bass: 4, mid: 4, treble: 3, midfq: 250hz, gain: 40, level: 40, ultra: both, solo: 7

svt8x10: dyn20: 50, dyn57: 45, bottom: 70, balance: 45

keep in mind I still haven't own one yet. so I'm not too familiar with the changes. plus I got the parameters from downloading the manual. once I get one, I will be posting some nifty patch ideas for this multi-effects processor. also feel free to adjust the settings if anything needs to be fixed.

Throw a Glam Vomp at end of this, WIN!

Crystalman85: If you guys really want me to get one, I will. I do plan on buying a new multi-effects sometime soon. as soon as I get one, I'll post some patch ideas here.

Yes, we really do want you to get one :)

Okay I will be getting one real soon. I was thinking in the meantime, I can come up with patch ideas mentally and once I do get the zoom b3n, I would most likely would come up with updated versions of the patch ideas I came up with. not quite sure how some of these patch ideas will turn out, but hopefully you'll enjoy them.

Here's a patch Idea I've been brain-storming recently. this patch closely duplicates the warm overdriven sounds of a darkglass vintage microtubes.

Vintage grind

znr: detect: efxln, depth: 20, tresh: 10, level: 90

dynacomp: sense: 3, attack: fast, tone: 5, level: 80

BlueB bod: gain: 50, tone: 30, blend: 40, level: 100

Dark pre: bass: 5, lomid: 59, himid: 40, treble: 2, blend: 50, gain: 10, volume: 80, boost: lo
