Bacchus, Show 'em if you've got 'em!

Heavily debating picking up this, pickups swapped with Aguilar ag4j-hc, Seller wants about 1200.
I keep hearing good things about these and i absolutely love the look + it's pretty close to what one of my favorite bassist uses.

Appreciate any input! It basically comes down to this vs a MIA fender but im leaning towards the bacchus

I had the 5 string version of that bass. It is superior to an American standard in many ways. Top notch build quality.

Well I'm torn between these two now.
Gonna end up paying the same, 2005 vs 2015 model
The older one has hum cancelling pups for what it's worth but i think it'd be cool to have a fresher looking bacchus so i can develop my own patina. I quite enjoy the more sparkly tone of the bacchus pups i've heard in demo's on youtube, not so sure about the Aguilar's..

Imported this from japan a few years ago and love it...

Bacchus Handmade Series Ash4 JB, Made by Aska, Black Oil with factory-installed Bartolini XTCT preamp with split pot ring controller.

It's circa 2011 or 2012 with DB-style bridge and pearloid binding on body and neck, and part of a limited-run series made exclusively for Kurosawa Music shops in Japan.

I figured this might be the best place to ask. Are Bacchus basses still being made in the Philippines? If so, which line?

I believe the low end of the lines are:

Global Series: Made in Phillipines

Universe Series: Made in China

2 of my 3 Bacchus BJB 98 Jiro signatures. Top of the line back in the day. Real quality, hand-made by Headway (Aska?) Japan. late 90's to early 20's
The Blue one on the right is close to the original colour finish. The one on the left has turned a nice shade of green due to UV exposure over the years. These two Basses were made within months of each other.

2-piece center seam Alder bodies. Nitro clear blue tinted finish. 1 piece Maple neck with maple board, Gotoh hardware. 4.4kg

I've since replaced the stickers with Smillie face ones as the sticker left a mark when I removed them.

I owned a Greco RB700 at one time. sold it. ach, I'll find another?

Nice Bacchus. What model is that?
I had a nice Bacchus WL Global series with a thin but beautiful blue to natural burst burl veneer on top. Nice playing Bass. The lowest of actions, the cheap hardware let it down.

I hope to be nabbing a real burl top Bacchus shortly. Something like this one, fingers crossed.
