I am looking into possibly buying a house this Spring/Summer so I am unloading and selling a lot of my stuff that I no longer need or want and making some extra money in doing so. I am not selling because I have too, just "cutting the fat" so to speak. Last night I sold my '98 MIM Fender P with Fender HSC to a local guy because I use my 80's MIJ Fender P more and it is just a better bass all around and the MIM was just put in the closet to collect dust. I was glad I was able to sell it to a guy who would use it. I like to maintain a simple setup so I will be ok with just one bass for a while, I have done it before. If there ever comes a time where I would seriously need another bass I would just pick up a VM Squier P or something just as a backup, however for what I do now one is enough. Just a little story I thought I would share. I know lots of people do the one and only bass thing...then there are some who have to draw out of a hat to decide what bass they are going to use that night
