I use strap locks on my basses so it would be a easy swap from bass to bass. I would think that it would be a better feel on the strap against your back though. I'll have to play around to see for sure though as I've never used one. Excited to get it.

I use strap locks, too, but going from a '67 Starfire to a Modulus Q6 means an entirely different strap. My straps stay with their basses.

Finally got my Backbeat in today and after playing around with it I can see how it would really add to the IEM experience. Excited to play this setup a couple times this weekend.

One of the reasons I find it a lot more convenient to clip it onto my belt rather than the strap. It also makes switching basses easier. OTOH, most of my basses have enough scars that I don't worry about a few dings, but so far, I haven't even come close to that problem, even on a strap.

But, it all depends on what your goals are. One of mine was to go speakerless on stage. It's amazing how much my amp was leaking into other mics on stage so I could get the right feel with IEMs. Definitely at cross-purposes. I wouldn't go without speakers without the Backbeat.
