Hi all,
So I have an Ibanez sr375e bass with after-market Bartolini mk5cbc pickups installed by a local Guitar Center. Everything was fine for a few months until a few days ago, when I was playing I started getting loud "crackling" sounds coming from my amp. The only way to stop the crackling sound was to turn off the amp.
At first I tried to trouble-shoot the issue on my own by seeing if maybe the 9v pre-amp battery was dead, so I replaced the battery and that didn't help.
The only thing I can think is wrong is maybe the pick-ups have a bad solder connection, but I could be wrong. I took it to a local Guitar Center earlier today and the tech there thinks it could be the output jack, but he wasn't sure. I'd really like to diagnose and fix it myself, but I don't really have an idea of where to start looking on how to fix it. Any ideas? Thanks for your time.
