It was named at a different time, when the selection of basses was small, and has been around so long the name has been grandfathered in. To name a line Rockbass in this day and age is pretty shortsighted.

Not a product per se but an advertising campaign for I believe the Line 6 HD147. It was the highest power Line 6 amp to date. The ad read something like,

"We've upped our game...Up Yours!"

It ran a couple months, and I wrote to Line 6 and asked, "Is it really a good idea to tell your customers ""Up Yours?"

The ads quickly disappeared.
