Baddy One Shoe pedals

Congrats Jimmy (and Ms. Jimmy)!

Babies are like evolving (reality) distortion pedals. At first they have a one knob, a gain (that screams!). Then they begin to develop vol, tone and gain controls. Eventually, if you wield your soldering iron with love and context appropriate discipline, they will become multiband distortions (they stay distortions, sorry) with self modulation and limiters.

We're totally derailing your thread Jimmy, but it's ok. It's still releveant to Baddy One Shoe.

My wife is in month #4 and just recently got over morning sickness. How's your Mrs handling it? My wife found that ginger chews helped a lot. Also, get her eating Activia yogurt now. Trust me :atoz: It will prevent problems forthcoming.

My wife and I both work nights, so her sick was hitting her about 7:30 pm on. Pretty much most of the time she's awake.

Her craving was broccili. Anything fried (even the smell) would trigger instant barf. Pregnancy is a wierd thing. I'm glad I don't have to go through it, but I'm certainly having to deal with it. Thankfully her emotions have been pretty stable and laid back up to this point. I hear she will get mood swings later. I'm certainly not looking forward to that. Have you gotten to see you're little one on an ultrasound yet? For me, that's really when I started to get excited.

I'll be happy if I can just get one run of Wayfarers and one of Honeycomb+ pedals done this summer. I'm always thinking of the next pedals I want to work on, but I'm focusing on these two before the little one arrives and I have to hang up my soldering iron for a while.

Nope, I was just thinking about the overall effects market the other day, and considering the ever widening price gap between mass produced and boutique. I've always been on the blue collar end of the spectrum, and even though it takes way more time to hand-produce the effects I make than it takes the big companies to send something down an assembly line, I wanted my price structure to reflect my commitment to working musicians.

So, after some figuring I decided that if I went back to direct sale only (avoiding the markup that I needed to go through local dealers) and kept everything to short runs of 5 or less, I could slash prices a bit.

I'll never keep Baby rocket in diapers by building, but really this is more of a hobby than a business to me and so as long as I can clear enough capital to keep building I'm happy.

Thus, the price re-structure. We'll see how it goes....

I got to play #1 when I visited Jimmy last month. It's a cool pedal. Very mild, but very delicious!

If I hadn't just unpacked a spank'n new SL900 today, I would have gotten one weeks ago.
