I thought (based on the NAMM report) that the Valkyrie was capable of getting very close to a Monique vibe...

My awesome wife let me have some time away from the kids to goof off for a little bit today, so I recorded some video of me playing my Fender CS '64 NOS through the Puma 900 and my ML212.
Obviously, it's a pretty crappy cell phone recording (I need to get me one of those fancy Zoom things!), but... I still think the sound on the vid is a decent representation of the punchy "thump and grind" (as I like to call it) that I can get from my ML212... even at the lower volume I used while recording.
As far as the video goes... I just finally started dedicating some time to using my Boomerang looper... and I'm kind of stuck in pentatonic land as a player (any suggestions to get out would be great)... but I was playing in C here to get a little practice playing outside of the keys I'm used to.
Anyway, I hope you guys enjoy it.

That was BAD A** man! Loved it! Really well done. Nice groove and very fluid. Great tone too.

Ditto on this - VW Jetta TDI wagon is the bass player's dream set of wheels. Works with my upright and one cab also; runs on diesel and gets 40+ mpg. Whats not to love?
SJ albums are bass clinics. I got to talk to Chuck about it a bit at camp year before last. He's got an incredible feel.
Me doing an impersonation last night. Still so much to work on...

I keep looking at that car, but diesel typically cost more than premium gasoline around these parts; diesel is >$4/gallon right now.
Your sound is just killin' with electric bass!![]()
Thanks for the props - easier to spend time 'shedding when the tunes are so fun to play. If only I took it out a few bpm slower...
As for Kimmel, I'm going to have to go over my contract

ML112 remains my first-call cab no matter which bass is out of the bag. From last night:

What I like is no hint of low-mid wool and incredibly articulate mids and upper mids without any gank. That is actually a somewhat busy mix - keys and guitar are both comping a lot of the time. The bass is never fighting that sonically, nor is it working against the kick.
