I've missed Ken's clips too! Even though they've cost me more than a few bucks over the years!
By the way, the Tech21 VT Bass Deluxe through any amp's power section into the ML112 is TOTALLY killer in every way. If you want a vintage sounding rig but already have a great "clean" head, then adding a preamp peddle like the VT Bass or Tone Hammer is just too easy. The VT Bass has sounded a bit harsh for me through many other cabs because of the tweeter. With the ML112 though, it really shines in a beautiful way that I haven't really experienced since I parted with my Berg IP310 a few years back. The VT's ability to dial in that classic Ampeg grind, overdrive, or vintage glassy top end is really beautiful through the Baer. I should have tried this weeks ago.
So now I also have a VT Baer Deluxe rig at my disposal. Cool!
I would bet that would be amazing.

I'll admit to not being the biggest fan of Rics, but the 4003 sounds great in those clips. Maybe I just don't like Rics with tweeter loaded cabs.

MANY thanks to Ken for re-posting his great clips for the Baer 112, and Addison for his great work doing so many different basses, and styles with his 2 x 112 stack.
After listening to Ken's clips, I can definitely say they really demonstrate really well the contrast between the P-Bass / Streamliner vibe and the Jazz / Markbass vibe. While I appreciate the latter, I am without a doubt the tube/P-bass guy.
What I like about the Baer is that, while taking out most of the really high-end sizzle, it is still plenty well-defined up top and plays so nicely with that beautiful top end of the STL. You can tell it takes EQing very well. As Ken opens the VTC and closes it, the difference is really smooth and subtle.
The Baer really handles the STL's deep low end as well. And with the enhanced mids of the P-Bass (at least compared withe jazz) and the enhanced upper mids of the Baer, the response of that rig is so nicely balanced from bottom to top. And the Baer really reproduces that tube overdrive in such a nice way as well.
Another thing that Ken's clip that contrasts the Baer and the Berg AE 210 shows is how similar two well-executed cabs can be, even though one uses a mid driver only, and the other using a tweeter only. A real tribute to two great cab makers. Two different but two great flavors.
I also agree, I was quite surprised how great the Ric sounded in Addison's clip.
Bottom line: I need a Baer ML 212! It will make a nice complement to my Uber 410, and a perfect complement to my Streamliner and my P-Bass esque Dingwalls.
Now I have to put the $$ together!

Of course, you have to keep in mind what that will sound like in a mix. It should cut through very nicely without being at all harsh or ganky.
Some of the brightness has got to be from the recording devices too. I just tried to get a good recording with my galaxy S3 and my rig sounded WAY brighter than it actually is. I was thinking about getting a zoom h2 so that I can make clips of my rig and pedals for TB'ers.
I'm not so much put off by the brightness. To put things in perspective, one of my all time favorite cabs is the Eden D410XLT, which has a nice low mid bump that cuts through with a really nice top end. I don't get that same feeling from the Baers and I can't afford to take a risk considering the cost of shipping, when I'm unsure of what I'm hearing through both Ken and Addison's videos.
Actually I really preferred the voicing of the Bergantino over the Baer in Ken's video. The top end was similar but the mids were different. I preferred whatever it was the Bergantino brought to the table.

True. Also, Addison had his Streamliner really over driven with the drive boost button engaged, so that will give it some extra grit and grind that is good if you want that, but is something that the Baer will reproduce in droves no doubt.
When compared to an eden xlt, I can see what you are saying. The eden is thicker in the low mids and maybe just more round, where as the baer sounds clearer but, alot less low mid bump. Deeper low end too.
Yup, that's what I'm hearing. The Baer's will be great for a lot of players, but I tend to err, on what many would say, the aggressive side of things.
