Bag End cabs

I thought the 12/15 stack was a little more forward than the 15/15 stack, and had great cut with a band. The dual 15s have a little more low end, and are a touch smoother in the mids. I sold my 12/15x stack and kept the 15/15 stack. I still use my dad's 12/15 stack (with EV speakers) frequently. It's centrally located in our practice space, and I aim the 12 (on top) at the drummer and the 15 towards the rest of the band. He can hear my attack better through the 12 and we can play tighter. Last gig, I brought my 15/15 stack for the audience and an EA Wizzy10 for the drummer.

Just need to mention this....
Rig was:
S15D-X
Shuttle 9.0
PRS 4 string Roland V-Bass
Sadowsky JJ5

My tone was flat out killin' last night. That cab is the shiz-nizzle.....A Pair would be UN-REAL!!!

"Loud, punchy & portable"...couldn't have said it better myself! I have a pair of the 15D. I bring one to indoor gigs and 2 to outdoor gigs and I never lack volume or musicality! Tight and full...gotta love 'em. ....Powered with a GB Shuttle 9.0

I've spent a lot of time with my S15D stack over the past year since everything else in in storage, and the more I play them, the more I appreciate them. Gonna have to pick up a pair of S15L-D's in the near future.

I'm currently using two S12's and I'm pleased with them. At low volumes or with one cab, I want to boost the bass a bit...but once I do that, I'm golden. I don't miss the tweeter, but I haven't used tweeters for a couple of years. I've played both electric and upright through them (well, upright through 1).

To my ears, my rig sounds pretty different from some of the Epi cabs I've played through, which were "wider" and "sweeter" sounding but didn't have the same "punch" and "definition" (yes, I know how vague these terms can be...).

+1 I have had both and it's true that the Epifani have a wider response and along with one of Nick's heads I find them to be loud and clear. I used a 210 BXD from Bag End for years with a Steve Rabe era SM 400. The biggest difference between the two is that the Bag End was hitting a lot harder. Really filled a room. But, the Bag End cab has a specific tone to it. Not a bad tone but it sounds like a Bag End and I find less of that from Epifani. My 2 cents
