Bag End Club.

I'm rather amazed I never joined this club. I've been using Bag Ends since the early 2000s. My current collection is a 2x12, 15 w/coax, and 10 w/coax. In the past I've also had a 4x10 w/coax (shallower version), and an 18, all Deep Red series. Oh and 10 home theater/car sub. Here's a few pics I can find:

This makes a killer practice/mid volume rig. That's a 5 watt Hotone Thunder Bass; mouse for scale.

From a mouse to a cat! That's my folk's cat on my 15.

I’m sure it’s discussed in this thread somewhere but I thought I’d show how the installation of an attenuator for my s15dx went. It was all super simple. It’s just a matter of rerouting a couple wires and adding a couple more. The neck of the attenuator is just barely long enough to push through the cab which I found surprising since it looked so long out on the bench. As a matter of fact I had to remove the fuzz under the plate just to be able to thread the nut on. It sounds perfect. Super nice to have some control over that thing.

Nice demo!! I agree that the S12 and S15 together had something special going on. All 4 cabs together would be crazy loud.

I like my 2-10 w/ a 15 underneath, EA head. Also have a 2-12 that I think sounds better on its own then mixed with others. Bag End are the best sounding cabs I've ever used.

I have a oiled birch 15 coax I'm in need of moving in case anyones interested, has a nice Lecover cover that has kept it in nice condition.

Had a great experience with Bag End customer service yesterday. I was working on a used D-10xd I’d picked up with an undisclosed dead tweeter or crossover.

All turned out well and I had the pleasure of enjoying a Bag End with a coax for the first time. I’ll stillmgig my S15d’s but this is great for my home studio and rehearsal space.

I’m 100% certain it’s a great product. It’s a S15-B with a well matched lightweight power amp inside.

An S15 is about $760 street, $950 MSRP.

I think the powered ones have an MSRP for more like $1500? Just checked full compass to see if they carried the one you posted and did not see — but the powered D10XN is $1777 Street/~$2000 retail.

Worth it? Yes. I have no doubt, though my own application calls for a separate bass head, so they’re not for me. If I ever need to replace my S15’s I will buy new to support the company.

Since I relocated last summer back to my home turf after being away for 28 years and seeing a lot of my old crew still hustling the scene, I'm starting to get the itch to play out again. In wanting to keep my 40 watt tube goodness, my thought is to have BE build me a PS15LX-B to slave off my tube head.

I have one of these. I like it very much. I had them build mine with a neo driver they have. That knocked about 4lbs off which is something that was important for me. This, a small pedalboard and, my bass is all I need to carry.

They're about $1600 from Bag End.

I'm breaking several laws here, I know. Some people just want to watch the world burn.

On the bottom here are 2 D12E cabs. Yes, Elf cabs jacked right into a tube amp. Mixed cabs too, with the Carvin on top to add to the kink. Funny thing, everybody that's actually heard it loves it. Good thing they don't spend much time on the Internet.

Just for laughs, my home stereo sub is an 18" Elf, I forget the name..the model with the integrator and power amp built in. Have to keep the volume very low or I won't see the cat for days.

I'm currently upgrading my rig and have been working and talking with folks from Bag End. They are taking a bit longer to reply so I'm now shopping on my own for used Bag End gear. I currently play through 2 combo amps so going the cab and head route is very new for me. I'm looking for help on the rig I'm trying to build.

What I'm considering is running a 1x18 as well as a 2x10. From my conversations with Bag End, I need to separate the cabs so I'm getting the benefit of each cab separately. What I'm not sure is what kind of power amp I would need to run both. I'm also looking at an Alembic F-1x or F-2b preamp to run. I simply don't know what I'm doing. Can anyone help? Mainly trying to figure out what brand and specs for a power amp. Also how to set this up correctly using the F-1x or 2b so I get the full tonal qualities of both cabs.

Because they're more expensive and I'm looking at used gear on Reverb. All the used gear I'm seeing is without the power amps, must be a new feature for them. Also, if I only need one power amp for both cabs, no sense in buying two cabs each loaded with a power amp.
