No-one seems to have mentioned that baldness is related to the male hormone testosterone. The very essence of manliness!
On the whole I think men get a much better deal when it comes to the problems of ageing!
Personally I've always wanted to touch, not bald heads, but those with really, really short hair![]()

For me it caused more self-consciousness then provided self-esteem.
Anyway, now that I am bald I have a noticable amount more confidence in how I look and that is what people respond to - your percieved confidence. If you are comfy with who you are and how you look people pick up on that.
