I'm not questioning a ban, just sharing a funny story about one.

I saw that someone was recently the recipient of the ban hammer and I said out loud, "I wonder what he did to get banned?" Without looking up from her book my wife said, "He probably said he doesn't like Fender." She really does pay attention.

Not that I want to 1 up you, but I do :). I think my wife holds the bass player's wife of the year award (at least for 2001) when she said the following as we were walking out of a guitar center: "Joe, isn't that a Warwick Streamer (Masterman) over there... with a $499 price tag?"

Mine went with me to the Bass Boot Camp EXPO last weekend.

Hmm... we'd need to have the judges weigh in on that. Technically speaking, in a situation like that, she could be getting in the way of things. I'd say "just sayin" here, but I really hate that phrase.

On the way to the car she told me that I should go back and get the Valenti P5 that I was ogling since I've wanted one for a long time.

I was going to my gig and I had to put my cab into my buddy's van that was already full, and it just needed an inch to close the door. :banghead:
So I took out my Bass and used it as a sledgehammer to get my cab to fit.
It fit, the Bass lost a little something. :(
But it still plays. :hyper:

Really, what possesses people to put a sticker on their instrument?

My thought processes may be incorrect, but this is what I've learned from seeing others get hit by the hammer.
  1. Don't bash Fender
  2. P basses are good. J basses are versatile. You can only start a thread about it once. The subject can be brought up daily as long as comes from different members.
  3. A poster has more wiggle room if they frequently discuss buying gear, because ad revenue is important.
  4. Once you are on the poopie list, every word you type will come under heavy scrutiny.
