Bananana MATRYOSHKA

Did a quick check out. First impressions:

Tracking: tracks pretty well as far as these kinds of pedals go. I have a Behringer BSY600 which can do many of the same tricks, but's touchy when it comes to tracking. Same goes for the Digitech Bass Synth Wah. As with all these pedals, you have to "play the pedal", being very careful to mute unwanted string noises and notes. In some modes, this pedal tracks very well, though, so no complaints. I will say that in most cases it would be tough to use this in a studio situation where you need to have absolute control over the noises and need instant muting.

Features: the fact that you can run just the "normal" synth as well as the "effect" at the same time, with two separate level controls, is really cool. As for the effects themselves, my favorites are the filter S&H, and the bit crusher. The S&H sounds awesome when you just trigger it with the resonance all the way up, trigger it by slightly touching a string, and letting it run away on its own. Not sure how to use that with my band, but so what? This is a toy for me! The fuzz I'm not a huge of, I've never been much for synthy fuzz tones, and it's seems kind of glitchy. Maybe it works for some.

I did notice one minor issue; if you crank the resonance all the way up in one of the S&H modes and then switch off the pedal, that S&H robot sound continues to leak through the output, and you can turn up the effect volume and hear it plainly through your amp. The only way to avoid this is the turn the resonance down a bit.

I'm going to be wasting spending a lot of time playing with this along with other pedals to make cool sounds.

Not a lot to add at this point. I find it very well conceived, better than most at tracking, and in addition to the ear candy, I believe there are some useful, musical Tones in there.

Some complex pedals, when you find a cool sound, you better enjoy it while you can, because recreating that sound will be a long shot. I feel like I got a really clear handle on the parameters and adjustments and I've already demonstrated the ease in recreating a cool sound.

It's really tiny. It gates pretty effectively. Sounds great with many ways to combine what are essentially 4 voices, including the clean source. It won't do just clean and -1 octave. The octave down only plays with the synth voices.

I'm not going to do a demo until I can go into great depth. The only thing lacking is presets. Of course they made the choice to go tiny, and that is cool in its own right. I wouldn't be surprised to one day see a deluxe version, with presets and midi, for around $321.

It sounds great. I like the pitch shift in detune, with out 1 and -1 oct mixed in. Sense right on the cusp, and all various settings of resonance.

This is using a Vintage Pre-TCE Behringer Cable Tester Test Tone and 4 smallish glasses of scotch. No synths were used or harmed.

Verererery cool bananananas. Now I want one. I don't have your stash of fine drink though - I wonder how it would sound using 4 smallish bottles of beer?

Ordered on Wednesday and got here early Monday in NJ! This thing is wild. I've never seen such a tiny box work so much wonders. I'm going to need to spend a lot of time with this. Even just fiddling without reading instructions, I found many great patches. I wonder what this would be like in a bigger format with presets like you all have been talking about and compare to a FI.

Fwonkbeta and Noble here as well. I love the Fwonk Filter a lot.

Are you still digging the Bananana?
