Beauford is the engine for sure...dave also got Tim Reynolds & Butch Taylor, too.
All 3 guys had played in a Richmond Fusion band called Secrets (killer band!)...w/ Keith Horne on bass. I saw these guys many times in local bars...playing for peanuts, I'm sure.

Not sure how Horne did not end up with the DMB.
