Band Photo...we need some ideas

I say do basic pics with different effects. Black and White made this one of Steel Pulse look pretty cool. Three guys looking in camera, three guys looking elsewhere.

And look at this pic that my girl took of me at GC then touched up on her phone. If you want to know the effect like me know and I'll ask her.

OK, follow me on this one: One 8x10 consisting of 4 individual frames, each frame has a shot of the band playing in the background with the only difference is the audience: First frame has 3-4 standing audience members, next frame has 15-20 people standing/dancing, next frame has a full-on crazy dance floor, next frame no audience just a single passed out dude on dance floor.

Instead of standing in front of a brick wall, stand off to each side checking out the brick wall with hands on your chins as though it is somehow profound. Say something like '20,000 band photos can't be wrong.'

When I'd thumb through my parents album collection as a kid, I'd see this album and trip out on how frikkin' weird adults were.

Keep it simple use a background that either correlates with the band name or a statement you are trying to make with your music also try to relate in your expression with what you want to convey to your fans if you are evil heavy metal don't be smiling happily in you band photo. yeah I have seen it ha ha ha

I've always wanted to do the one with the members looking very serious and introspectively in different directions on a dark stormy beach bluff, then have just one person crouched over and furiously masturbating or someone with an inner tube floatie around his waist, in an ape costume or something ridiculous.

Pick any band cliche' and mock it, that gives you a lot to work with.

I always find cool places for photos in the Financial District of any city. lots of cool staircases, stone walls, maybe a fountain, etc.

Also, you can go to an industrial zone and find a burnt out abandoned factory, and then have all the band members wear really nice clothes. Contrast.

go down to an urban part of town, find some amazing street art and take a pic in front of it.

go to Sears, they have a photo department, have them do it, and it will be very cool.

Here's a really good that was going to do a decade ago but only works if you are a quartet.
You get all of your faces photoshopped onto the members of the A-Team. Make sure the A-Team Van is in the background. If you're really good at this, photoshop the instruments into the hands. Also follow this guideline.

It's totally appropriate. You can only see half of one areola or 25% of the total, so it's fine. You only start to cross over to inappropriate once you cross 50%.

Hire some scantily clad models to do some photo shoots with you.
It may not work out, but you'll get to creep all over some hotties for a few hours.

I remember seeing this as a kid, and thinking that the Beatles must be pretty cool: Link Removed . Finding a cool doorway or stoop is a classic, non-brick-wall way to go.

Unfortunately, the hard truth is that it also depends on your age and general style. I don't know you and I don't mean to make any assumptions, but I've seen a lot of photos of older guys trying to look tough, which usually only works if you're Motorhead.
