Almost anyone would be better than Kiedis. Actually I think they'd be a killer instrumental band, ala Meters, just a bit more hyper.

How did you come to the conclusion that Chris Cornell is an Eddie Vedder clone?

I wondered this myself. Seriously, those two guys could hardly be more different in terms of vocal style. Not to mention that Cornell's serious singing career predates Vedder's by a good margin. Soundgarden has been around since around 1984.

Which is a shame because the songwriting and the original drummer would make them an otherwise great band, imo.

I totally agree. The instrumentals and lyrics are great, but you can hardly notice that with Billy's voice distracting you.

Not me...Axl is one of the most overrated singers of all time. He has one of the most annoying voices in rock.

I agree - Cornell is SOOO far from a Vedder clone. Cornell - one of the strongest rock voices of all time.

I used to think ozzy was an adequate vocalist, nothing special but ok, on albums like my personal all time favorite paranoid. But take a listen to the last two minutes of symptom of the universe, where he really opens up his throat. Hell, take a listen to the whole sabotage album. Dude could sing.

I would have to agree with that. Sabotage really rocks. I guess it is just his more recent singing, post-Sabbath, that I really don't like.

Oh yea..definately smashin pumpkins, rush, blind melon..staind. (well i liked his voice on the older stuff..but Gdam with the later whiny stuff....dang it)

Blind Melon? Imho that's one of those underappreciated gems of a band, and Shannon Hoon one of the best singers I've heard in a long time.

Funny how tastes can differ.

Freddie just isn't a rock singer in the conventional sense. His voice didn't have any grit to it. Sure he had an amazing range, but Queen were a sort of theatrical prog-musical space opera rather than an actual rock band in the conventional sense.
