Bands you don't particularily like

Most "electro" music. I ****ing hate techno, dubstep, drum and bass, trance, and all that other ****.

I've eaten crow too many times to write anything off anymore, but here's a few bands I used to hate but eventually wised up about:

Beatles - hated them because they were popular, but never really gave the music a chance. I see now how great they were, and can only imagine how great they seemed in the context of the 60s

Rage - Zack's vox turned me off big time, but I learned to love them. So much energy!

Johnny Cash - it was country, and he was on TV with rhinestones and all, and my parents loved him, how could I not hate him?? But now I see the error of my ways.

wow a lot of cork sniffers out there , with some of these lists , we would all be listening to crappy experimental jazz or nothing after 1960

that being said, give me a break on the country garbage, I don't care about your contrived good ole boy persona, you don't fool me , half these people have never two stepped across a pasture with cow poop on their boots.

Dub step, who the hell came up with that crap, probably the same panel that came up with all those I wanna be a star tv shows and boy bands

folk rock , really people?

saccharine sounding radio friendly rock

A test of an exercise's validity is to apply it to different circumstances and see if it leads to a logical outcome.

Public success:Gangnam Style > Mozart's Requiem

It fails. :smug:

A persons tastes shouldn't be defined by the commercial success of the artists. There is nothing wrong with discussing opinion of what doesn't work in music as well as what does. It helps people hone the craft.

I don't understand Springsteen's music , I would never say I don't like it.

Wow. Love these kind of threads where it's basically a free pass to troll, haha. Some surprising choices here, and some unsurprising ones.

Anyways. Leaving current disposable plastic-wrapped pop dog**** of all genres aside, "hate" might be a strong word for me. But I will say that I don't get Jack White. I have so many friends who keep trying to proselytize to me about his stuff, and I've made an honest attempt to get into his music on multiple occasions, but I just can't. I understand why the whole stripped-down aesthetic element of the White Stripes was big when they came out, but I never thought there was very much substance to back it up. And in terms of his whole stage persona, I just always feel Jack White is trying way too hard. Like in that "It Might Get Loud" movie, there's the part where he's playing a guitar solo and then afterwards his Gretsch is just covered in blood, because that's how much he put into the solo. Really? That's just obnoxious to me.

Everytime my wife and I hear Springsteen sing, we always laugh outloud because he sounds to us like an old indian chief yelling and singing. We are always worried that it's going to start raining whenever he comes on the radio.

No, I don't get him either. Watching him on stage is utterly painful as well. All that falling down (drained from Rockin' so hard) is hilarious. For one thing he stole it from James Brown, but James Brown did it as a joke. Springsteen carries on likes he's just single-handedly rocked the entire population of the world and saved us all from the evil "Rockburgler". Talk about a ham. He should finish it off by downing a tin of spinach.

And I can't stand idiot singers using guitars as props. Either play the damn things, or don't wear them.

Damn some people on here dont know music lol

i will say though one of the worst bands to ever hit the world was hanson.....mmm bop was the worst song ever created

Eh. All the hate for pop music. People don't like it because it's popular and appeals to the lowest common denominator, not because it's qualitatively bad music. It could be argued that in some ways, it's qualitatively the best music, if poplar opinion is to be valued.

That said, I have nothing against mmm-Bop. It's a fun, catchy song.

I don't like Thunderstruck, because it's popular and overplayed. I don't like aerosmith, because there popular and overplayed. All the clubby pop crap i don't like, because it's like knowing the end of the book and reading it anyway.

Autotuned Verse into AutoTuned Chorus into AutoTuned Rap section, into the Chorus, into verse and done... It's boaring, plain and simple, but if people enjoy it, thats fine. I'd just rather listen to people cough around the office, than 10 versions of the same regurgitated song..

I honestly can't even tell who's singing anymore!
