Bands you don't particularily like

Although I appreciate all musicians and their efforts, I will have to join the list of people who do not care for "The Boss." I don't like his voice. And honestly, I have a hard time believing he is the workingman's mouthpiece when he charges $400 a pop for tickets and lives in a mansion. Kudos to him for being successful, but don't tell me about the troubles of working stiffs at this point in your career.

I was never a big Spingsteen fan either but I dated a girl in college who loved him. I went to see him in concert with her and I have to say it was probably one of the best shows I have ever been to.

Personally, I don't care for Pink Floyd. Mainly because of Roger Waters. I liked them a bit more after he left.

Anything hard rock (with a few exceptions like Taste and Free)
All those 80's sweet metal phonies like War, Skid Row, G'N'R, Tesla, White Lion, etc., especially Whitesnake...
Phil Collins (can't stand the sight of that guy, I don't know why but I feel some unreasonable hatred towards him)
Rod Stewart (same with him)
Tina Turner (that's not singing, that's a rant)
Lynyrd Skynyrd
Eagles
Toto
Dream Theater

Now I know it's just a matter of taste and my comments are not meant to hurt anyone's feelings, I'm only joking when I write I hate someone, especially the people I never came across and wouldn't really know what they are like personally.

Elvis Costello. Can't stand his music or his voice. But I will give him this: He's got the best manager in the business. Elvis is everywhere. He shows up on more tv shows, concerts, tributes, etc than anyone.

We worked a show with him three years ago. The guy got paid $125K for a 50 min set...just him and his acoustic guitar. $125K.!!!!

Like I said, he's got the best manager in the business.

Negative threads always make me scratch my head. The worlds negative enough, who cares what band or bass or tv show you hate? Get a life , if ya don't like it move on.

Eh, we're just having fun with it. If no one cared, there would be no responses. Get a life, if ya don't like it move on :)

Holy Freeking Sheet! I thought I was the only person who felt that way about the Beatles!!!

Not in the least my brotha

Holy Freeking Sheet! I thought I was the only person who felt that way about the Beatles!!!

Nope.

The Beatles
Bob Dylan
Grateful Dead

I understand that to many the first two have made huge musical contributions but they ain't my cup of tea. I do like George Harrison though and felt he was probably the most talented of the Beatles.

Guess I need to drop acid to get the Dead.

Rush (respect them as musicians, can't stand the music)

I feel the exact same way about Zeppelin. Appreciate the talent, but I could never listen to more than 3 of their songs in a row.

I grew up in South Jersey where Zep and Springsteen ruled the airwaves in the late 70s/early 80s. Didn't like either one of them. Amazed I never got beaten up for being so vocal about my dislike for either group/artist.

Green Day and any band that sounds like Green Day
Foreigner
Journey
Boston
Aerosmith

U2---they're so bad I find them insulting!

Beatles---I don't care what anyone says, there were far better bands of the same era and I resent the fact that people who know nothing about music look at you as if you have three heads when you tell them that you are not a fan.

Oasis---Oh Jesus!!! scumbag band, scumbag fans.

Pink Floyd---Loved by posh twats and junkies alike.

Dream Theater
Victor Wooten (mad respect for the technique but the music does nothing for me)

Ditto for Tribal Tech and pretty much all fusion bands.

Basically I just don't really care for 'technical' music that much.

I don't have anything but respect for them, but II had my fill of Led Zep about 25 years ago and don't really listen to them (or miss them) these days-thank you classic rock radio. How many more times----can you listen to the same songs. As for Springsteen-I caught him live on the Born in the USA tour with a friend who was a fanatic. I thought the showbiz way everything was choreographed was more like Wayne Newton than a rocker. There was no spontaneity in my opinion, but he was making a ton of cash at the time and I can’t blame him too much. Still not my thing.

I'll probably take a lot of heat for some of these but here is a partial list:

Frank Zappa
Bruce Springsteen
Bob Dylan
Grateful Dead
The Rolling Stones (like some of their early stuff but never cared for Jagger's voice)
Fleetwood Mac
Steely Dan
Pink Floyd
Jamiroquai
Bob Marley
Europe
Santana
Foo Fighters
Primus
Metallica
Motorhead
Megadeth
Blink 182
Pantera
Rage Against The Machine
Beck
Prince
Garbage
Weezer
The Mighty Mighty Bosstones
Korn
Red Hot Chili Peppers
Phish
Black Eyed Peas
Tool
Beastie Boys
Dave Matthews Band
Radiohead
Nirvana
REM
Smashing Pumpkins
Pearl Jam
Green Day
Queens of the Stone Age
Fall Out Boy
The White Stripes
The Doors
Any rap, hip hop, anything with a vocalist who screams to the point that you can’t understand a word, anything that is nothing more than a guitarist shredding through most of the song, any jam bands, etc.
