Barber Linden EQ • New small form factor

This looks intriguing. I love the form factor. I'd really like feedback from anybody who's used it. How does it compare to the likes of the Xotic RC Booster or 3Leaf Little Black Box or Fultone Fatboost?

I had the old version and I loved it. I only sold it because with upright it got a little difficult to control feedback without making too wide a sweep and I didn't need it for anything else. But if you want a very easy-to-use EQ that sounds better than a lot of really high end stuff, the Linden is the shizz.

Well I just received one today. Haven't had much time with it but so far so good. Hoping to use it as a boost type effect for choruses or where I need just a little extra beef. Went for this instead of a Xotic RC Booster. We'll see.

I really like it. Replaced a 3Leaf Little Black Box and I don't really miss the LBB other than the top mount jacks. The EQ is very useful. The two switches are very useful too. For $100 it's a no brainer.

I looked at the website and the words "flip top" made me think it was a design that emulates/mirrors the Baxandall EQ circuit of the B-15 with some additional features associated with the various voicing changes over the years.

Thx! I must have missed seeing ‘flip top.’ But if that’s the case it most definitely should be a Baxandall design.

The Linden through a Broughton H/LPF through a Telefunken passive DI will be my signal path by mid week.

Would really appreciate hearing how that works out as it sounds like it would be an ideal solution for incredible tone with a minimal number of elements in the chain.

I’ve had the Broughton in the past. VERY sweet pedal. Not fancy. Not sexy. Just an extremely useful and well built pedal.

Agree. I prefer to mix & match devices that do one or just a few things - but do them exceptionally well. A modular approach works best for me most times too.

Now that I’m looking at my assemblage of signal shapers, I’ve noticed all I’m still missing in terms of raw functionality is a dedicated LPF. I’ll have to grab a Broughton LPF soon to plug that gap.

I have a custom spec baxandall pre Josh Broughton did up for me which I’m interested in comparing to the Linden which I just ordered. Should be interesting.
