Barefaced Retro Six10 cab USA tour

Is this still a possibility? Very cool idea. I was thinking about a sealed 4/6-10 last night. Was reading the Duke .5 thread, then looked up the 69er, and this pops up.

I'm in Ausitn, TX (that's 2 in austin, and one in Houston) - a short drive for us to meet half way.

If this thing was to get going, seems like starting in the NE makes the most sense, then just working towards the left coast. Seems like there is quite a bit of overlap, so lots of guys could do a GTG to check out the cab, cut down on the shipping. I'll work that up in a minuet.

Once it hits the Pacific, maybe it could then be put up for sale or bid or something with first priority to people who paid shipping. Not sure how that would work for Alex / BF as far as selling and TB and all that...

OK,,, if this is even a possibility, it might look something like this. Sorry in advance for messing up names... made a bunch of notes by hand, and can't read my own writing!

Barefaced Bass Factory - alexclaber

New York - Kringle / Fro20 (who might be out)

Maryland - FuzzBass / Bassdrop / JGR / Kbakerde

Boston - Mothra2

Nashville - The Butlerdidit

Indy, IL, Chicago - Wild Rice / CregC / The Dude / gnergaard

Ohio - Tom Bows / Jeff Scott / cheezeariz / N.F.A / chsistw

Missouri - 3rd Curve / Chef

Texas - Will33 / hennessybass / DrDAV14

Arazona - unchain / azwhofan / mapleglo

California - Jared Lash / Monster

I'm sure some if not a lot of these folks have lost interest, or may loose interest when it comes down to cost and doing the work. Even if we could just get it over here, and it only made stops in Maryland, Chicago, Ohio (for example) I bet we could get 10+ TBers to play the cab, and we could get some good A/B opportunities with a bunch of great cabs and amps, and reviews by some good TBers. This would at least provide the TB community with some great info on the cab.

I would say the thing to do would be to take a volunteer from each area who would be willing to take the lead for that region and do a little of the work this would require. That smaller group of volunteers could work together to move the cab across the country, and then could work with folks in their region to set up GTGs and moving around (not shipping), and collecting the fees for shipping.

We could kind of Live Tweet - or Live TB - the cab moving around. Post photos at arrival and departure, share tracking numbers, post videos and reviews, etc!

For what it's worth- I'm still 'in'. I have a rehearsal space near downtown Chicago that would allow us to get some sense of the cab at full volume.
I'm also really curious to try one of these with an all tube head (I have a Trace V6) a SS power amp and a hybrid/mosfet amp like the Aguilar 750/751.
I also own a station wagon so getting it to/from Indiana Talk Bass-ers without paying FedEx Shipping rates is a possibility.

I'm a big GK fan, and I'm waiting on a Hartke HyDrive 410, but I've been enamored by these Barefaced cabs since I saw them. I'd be interested in trying one out. I can definitely give it a workout! :D:thumbsup:

I'm in Indianapolis(Plainfield), IN 46168!

Depending on where it is going, and what actual shipping costs are, I would be interested.
49503 - Grand Rapids MI.
If the cab stops here, it might be good to have some sort of GTG so it can be demo'ed with a wide variety of basses and amps.

I'd be happy to contribute any audio-diversity that I can...

what ever happened to the six10? I want one soooo bad

Nothing's happened to it! We're making them, we're selling them. :)

And we have one Retro Six10 available to head out on a USA tour - we just need to build a flightcase for it.

Can everyone who wants to try one sign up below and then we can work out the best route for it to take around your enormous country!
