Just did a bit of research on Google, but couldn't really find anything. Just wondering if anyone knows if the Bartolini MK-1 pups Lakland use in the 55-01 are both split coil, or if it's basically P/J config? Just thought I'd ask before I go ahead and dismantle to find out.

I just used my allen key to figure out how the magnets pulled on it and found that they are a reverse P split coil. Well my MK1-5's were, I suppose the 4 & 6 strings would be the same.
I have them in my 44-02- split coil soap bars apparently. What I don't understand is- how do they differ from each other in terms of sound?
Perhaps! Problem is its a second hand custom model (it has green sparkles) so it may have elements of both 4401 and 4402. They might be J/MM though- that makes more sense given how it sounds
