No. There are a lot of small developers working right now and their stuff is becoming increasingly sophisticated. Unfortunately, I do not remember the names of the two I was recently reading about, but they supposedly are doing pretty good stuff with custom impulse modeling and soforth.Ha!
Is IK Multimedia just about the only software company out there right now offering bass amp modeling?
Nobody, if it's done right. That doesn't mean that you can't screw up either a "real" or a "modeled" track in uniquely identifiable ways.I don't care if its a simulation or real.. whatever "real" is. If it sounds good, it's good. Purists can say whatever they want.
Another thing... who can tell the difference in a mix?
