Bass Amps not from China

Even if an amp is assembled elsewhere, most if not all of the electronic components inside it came from China. So even "made in the US" amps are really assembled in the US from Chinese parts. 99% of all electronic components are made there. All amps are made in China but some are more made in China than others.

Cool. I'm asking about the ones that say Made in _______ (somewhere that's not China)

I like used Peaveys from the '80s & '90s from when they were still made in Meridian Mississippi. I am on my 2nd Minx for a practice amp.

I would not buy a new Peavey now, mostly because they are made in China and that Undercover Boss debacle.

Ahh but it kind of is. 99% of the non hand wired amps that exist have parts from Asia. There are lots of amps that are assembled in the US, but even that doesn't guarantee that the CM for at least a portion of the product is. I'm also not sure that outside of the manufacturers themselves that anyone knows to what degree there are parts of partial assembly done there. Also I assume that you mean specifically China and not Taiwan

Taiwan is OK. Not interested in a debate about percentages or components. That's a fools game. The world economy is completely interlocked. Everything bought feeds money to every corner of the globe. Great. All I care is that it says made in someplace other than china.

my made is UK ashdowns= beasts that served me well for 15years. the newer assembled in china stuff= crappy longevity, went thru 3 ABM amps in 5 years of touring.

That's a fair reason, realistically. Unfortunately a lot of the components that make up American or wherever amps come out of China. I won't touch the china-american-media-control thing with a 10, 40, 9001 foot pole.

I didn't even realize it was OP telling me not to address it and in hindsight he's 100% correct. People are smart enough to know why OP is asking what they are.

My price point is low. Couple hundred bucks. Tone is not as critical because this is a backup for a rehearsal space while the M9 is getting serviced. Plus, anybody with Mesa M9 experience knows that it's wise to have a backup. I know that 200-300 watts isn't in the same league as the M9, but its role will be limited.

GK ceased manufacturing in China many years ago.

"Many" being about 5 years ago.

the eq still effects the signal. is this not a true effects loop. thoughts anyone?

Some people might want the effects to be pre-EQ, I own A.M.P. heads that have two loops, one pre-EQ, one post.

Thanks for these suggestions. The Traynor looks almost perfect (but no FX loop), the GK 200 watter looks good, but it's hard to determine whether its a chinese version or not, so I'll steer clear. The Markbass nano is interesting since it has an FX loop,.

The SB500H does have an FX loop.

If you are concerned about where the amp is made, why not consider a smaller, older used amp. There's a wide choice available in your budget imo.

At that price point a used piece would be my choice.
