Bass Amps not from China

Mesa and Acoustic Image openly say that they use some foreign parts. I like that and those amps, plus a Carvin are all that I own now.

Source for the all made in China 99% figure? There are also 2 China's . Taiwan and Peoples Republic of China (PRC). And people from Hong Kong would argue about their "autonomy". PRC China is actually 4th (11.8%) in the ranking as of 2018. The URL and ranking is listed below.

Where does the lion share for the profits go? I would not be surprised if it's the US retail and amp company in the end.

I already bought a used GK. My original post only asked about the "Made in ____" notation on the gear, not whether X number of components were made in China for assembly elsewhere or the evolving meaning of "Made In". That may be a right and fine discussion to have on Quora or some other site, but not Talkbass.

Might want to read your own original post again, it didn't say anything about the actual physical labelling of the gear or how the manufacturers describe the country of origin, it simply stated that certain specific amps are made in China and asked about other amps that are not.

Given the reasons others stated in later posts for not wanting an amp that was made in China the origin of components in an amp is directly relevant to the discussion.

If you're now saying you just care about final assembly location and what the "made in X" label on the actual physical amp says then that's fine, no more discussion of components, but your original post was not that restrictive.
