Bass Cables - Which ones are worth it?

Monster are the only cables I've ever had trouble with.
I like Kirlin cables. Top quality and not expensive.

There are a lot of good choices out there. I like the D’addario/planet waves American stage cables lately. They are well made and low capacitance, and not insanely expensive.

I just bought a couple of Kirlin's. I like them. They seem quality and well made. So far so good.

Planet waves are pretty good. That said, four of those cheap cables at Sam Ash/Guitar Center will probably last me a lifetime.
I'd go for something that has nice Neutrik or G&H (I like the ones with the copper tip) connectors and some high quality cable. You can even make some yourself if you feel so inclined. There are a lot of companies that make cables using this formula, and as long as they are correctly assembled will all be pretty similar.
I seem to like the ones that reach from my bass to my amp. Honestly, any good cable, with any good connectors, correctly built ... will do just fine. I find most claims about cables to be outright hyperbole.
Ha! But I bought some elcheapos from GC once, and when I had to put a new connector on one I found out that the conductor was as thin as human hair. Well, almost that thick.
All my cables are GC or similar stuff. Most are 10+ years old. I don't walk on them and I do my best not to put strain on them at an angle.
IMO (and this has been discussed up to and adjacent to a holy war) Monster's products are 20% value by being the same quality as other products, and 80% value as propaganda to charge higher prices. I avoid them.

Well I don't get THE cheapest cables they have. But the ones I've gotten have lasted me years and years and I don't have to pay a premium for the privilege of buying grossly overpriced cables.
I agree. Those were from the bargain bin. I hear little difference between good cables.
Go for Instrument cables. If they specify they're for bass, don't buy them.
Best is to build your own. Grab some Mogami wire & Neutrik connectors.

I have some Van Den Hul cables built by Lava. I don't feel they are grossly overpriced. You do you.
$150 for a 10 footer? Yes, I do believe I will continue to do me.

I wouldn't pay good money for an instrument cable w/o knowing the specs, i.e. how many picoFarads/Meter.
