Michael,

Is there much of a tonal difference between a Poplar/maple wenge/wenge and an Ash/maple wenge/wenge? Two basses side by side plugged in and played; could anyone but a golden ear hear the difference? I like the way the Ash looks but who goes around showing the back of their bass? Okay... when I get into the portion of my act where I play with my teeth and behind my head it might show.:D

To Be absolutely simple about this, Poplar will be a little Warmer tonally than Ash, and is much more similar to Alder which has a Moderate Attack and Smooth Decay yielding an Even balanced tone with Well Defined Lows and clear highs.
