Double Bass Bass Cleaner

I recently found the Kolstein's Instrument-All Clean & Polish Kit online. I own an American Standard 3/4 Bass and would like to know if the cleaner will harm this finish. I know the packaging says it works on the finest finishes but I didn't know if it would work the same (this bass being over 55 years old.)

It would be fine. Some of the instruments Barrie handles are in the six figures and centuries old. He wouldn't sell a cleaner that wasn't safe for your ply.

I just hose it off. If you have one of those "power wash" things for cars and such, all the better. They really help to get all the grime off. Don't forget to wash the inside too. Just stick the nozzle through the F holes. All kinds of nasty things can be inside your bass. If you take the end pin out most of the water will drain out the hole. I just hang it by the scroll on the clothes line. Here's where the superiority of a carved bass over a plywood bass becomes apparent. A plywood bass may delaminate from the water leaving a big mess on your driveway but a carved bass will only fall apart at the seams. If that happens just glue it back together but use epoxy resin this time and maybe a couple coats of Varathane to make it more water resistant.

I've got the power washer and this purple cleaner stuff, can I use that? How do you get to the inside without damaging the edges of the f-holes. I'm not sure I have the idea clearly enough. Would you please have a friend or your wife record a video of you doing yours and post it for me? I'd really hate to do it wrong. Thanks!
