Bass condition rating on reverb

So I've been looking more at reverb for used gear as I've heard more and more people talk about it. I personally am not understanding how the heck they come up with the condition rating. Here's a bass that's only $100 lower than a new one they have listed. Marked as in "very good" condition. I don't know about you guys but I certainly don't consider a bass with a crack like that that goes all the way through the body to be in "very good" condition. Opinions???

Yeah, Reverb like many other sites that sell used gear, must be taken with a grain of salt.

I have bought and sold on Reverb. The seller rates the condition of the gear. Reverb publishes descriptions of each condition, but, as far as I know, does not review posts to ensure they conform to those descriptions. They are certainly subjective ratings that are easily abused by unscrupulous sellers, and the crack in the bass in the OP's post is far from "very good" in my opinion.

I have experienced both sides of the coin when buying from Reverb. I purchased a pedal described as mint by a music store using Reverb that had glue residue on the back, a chip in the finish, and was covered in dust -- not what I would consider mint. Then I bought used acoustic guitar that the seller described as excellent, but was in absolutely mint, like-new condition. I had to hold it a eye level at an angle to the light to even find the scratch that the seller described in the posting.

Hmmm. I just purchased a bass today there. VG condition.
I messaged the seller and they said there were no issues with the neck or electronics.
Now I'll worry till it gets here......

Exactly. It's not a reverb rating, it's a rating from Portland Percussion or Roxy Music, companies I'd definitely buy a bass from based only on photos and a phone call, or Bob's Bargain Basement Basses and other dealers who are simply private sellers who sell from their homes.
