Bass Destruction, Then Restoration Project.

Ok!!! First damage assessment, and things went great today. I am going to make this bass worse and worse over the corse of a few months. After that, I will start refurbishing this bass.


Tools used:

Wood saw, Steel wool, Sand paper, Channel locks, Allen wrenches to scratch and gouge, Rocks, and Diesel enriching additive+lighter= FIAH!

The destruction!
After a night of constant scratching and gouging with big allen wrenches, you end up with one hell of a bass... but I felt like something was missing... Like some sweet custom knobs. so I went to work making my dream custom bass knob. I found the perfect thing: A rusty gas cap. Problem was, It was way bigger than the knob shank on the POT. So I used some duct-tape to solve.

But I didn't stop there... I found an unused door knob. and crazy glued it on!!!

As I was doing my next mod, I used a pair of channel locks to try and put a SERIOUS dent in the bottom horn, but being as impatient as I, I gripped it too hard.... (Thats what she said!):p I broke of a lot of the bottom horn. But being the talented, and skilled luthier/fixer I am, I took matters into my own hands. I feel that Vinnie Fodera Himself couldn't have fixed it as well as I.:smug: I used some 3 inch nails and a hammer. With NO pre drilling.

I would have thought you would have learned more by doing some research. Most could be done here. Then build one from scratch. You could have used the good parts like bridge and neck in the new build. This just seems like a worthless angry youth adventure to me. But please video tape the dragging and further beating up. I like the others can't look away from a train wreck or accident. ;)

Thanks for the comment, but the purpose of this is to take a dilapidated, destroyed bass, and refurbish it back to new. not to build a bass. I will video tape the dragging in a day or so, and post the vid here, or on a youtube link. Also, I have always wanted to try destroying a bass. Juvenile, no. Fun, yes! :smug:

Tell me you have never wanted to do this before.:D

its pretty obvious that destroying the body, and parts that are not useful to the functioning of the bass is not going to affect how it performs. You might use it some day and even if that lower horn falls off, its going to work. But no1 can have the amount of fun you are having, keep it coming :D Really waiting for the dragging vid..:hyper:
