Bass distortion pedal for 125 bucks?

Fair enough. Not everybody hears the same nor has the same rig. My experience says it's more the low mids and higher lows that get cut.

Folks, he's right. You don't need a frequency analyzer to know when you're losing low end, and it really doesn't matter what range is getting the most affected. If you hear it missing, it's missing. I hear it with regular Rats, too. I love the Rat, but I could never use one on bass without a clean blend. That's why I'm using the MXR Bass Distortion instead. Between LED mode and the wet/dry knobs, you can totally keep your lows intact.

Just breaking your balls man. I love it when people get excited and proseletyze about a pedal. I do it all the time with my lovely Idiotbox stuff.

But regarding the "low-Sub" loss, I don't know how that can truly be quantified without a frequency analyzer. I mean, I hear my DOD 250 cutting off low end no problem, but I'd be very hard pressed to say its the high, mid or low lows that are being cut. I think that's where the confusion lied Jimmy....in the specificity the poster claimed about the low low-end loss.

That's the thing, M...it doesn't have to be truly quantified to be a legit statement. He hears the Rat and Blower Box as cutting sub lows. I never tried the Blower Box but I definitely hear it in Rats. That's why they were useless for me unless I had a clean blend.

Fair enough and FWIW I can't even begin to count the amount of pedals I've taken off the board because they cut low end. I gotta try out that M85 soon.

Oh, I also wanted to say I paired up my Han Taun with my BB last night, and for some reason those two pedals together make the lows so deep and powerful I had to actually cut the low end on my amp because I thought the speaker would blow.

Bumping because it's finally here - shipping was a whole 26 days. Whew, a bit long. That being said, the pedals seem quite solid aside from the somewhat cheap plastic knobs. Even the switch seems half-decent. Gets all the tones from that demo video without a problem, and on 9 o'clock on the gain knob the Dirty rat mode starts turning into something more like a fuzz than a distortion. Overall totally worth the total price I paid of $24.20 USD shipped.
