bass hero setlist!

Set list is awesome so far! So much for there not being enough songs that feature bass to make a career mode in Rock Band!

I've been thinking about the controller, and I think it should have an additional strum bar placed horizontally near the "fretboard". Then you can go from a walking line on the original vertical bar to some slap on the horizontal one. Heck do some taping with the upper octave buttons! Who'd want a lame guitar controller after the mighty bass controller?

"America" by Simon & Garfunkle. Joe Osborn on bass.

"Bernadette"--Jamerson on bass

"I Was Made to Love Her"--Jamerson on bass

"Blue Sky"--Allman Brothers, Berry Oakley on bass

"Watching the River Run"--Loggins & Messina, Larry Sims on bass

"Angry Eyes", Loggins & Messina, Larry Sims on bass.

Yeah, like them or not, FOB is a huge money maker. If there ever WAS such a thing as Bass Hero, they would probably have to put some crappy popular music on it or they wouldn't sell anything.

Also, as much as I DO dislike them, and HATE Pete Wentz for being a douchebag and a generally crappy bassist, the song Dance Dance does have a pretty catchy (albeit dead simple) bassline.

my shameful thoughts exactly. I play it to warm up
:hiding:

Killers- Iron Maiden
The Trooper- Iron Maiden

Bass Hero would be cool as hell, but let's face it: every guitar playing HERO wannabe will pick up Bass hero and somehow say its easier to play than Guitar Hero.

But with the songs that you crazy bass players are coming up, it would be HILLARIOUS to see those GUITAR HERO nut cases throw the bass controller down in disgust because they can't play any Muse or Jaco tunes!

Sugar, We're Going Down - Maybe you can score points for playing it better than Pete Wentz! I really can't stand that guy.... he screams failed guitarist!

There would have to be a separate subwoofer you buy with the game so you could accurately hear the bass notes - TV speakers can't do that well enough.

It would be nice to have Anesthesia Pulling Teeth on there to show how cool bass can be.

So my song ideas:

Anesthesia Pulling Teeth, For Whom The Bell Tolls - Metallica
Revolution is My Name, Walk, Domination - Pantera
Edgecrusher, Machine Debaser, Flashpoint - Fear Factory
Potential for a Fall - Sick of It All
Would - Alice in Chains
Shake Your Booty - KC & The Sunchine Band
Time is Running Out - Muse
Blew, Love Buzz, Heart Shaped Box - Nirvana
Come out An Play - Offspring
Angel of Death - Slayer
Date Rape, Wrong Way - Sublime
Mysterious Ways - U2
My Generation - The Who
Beautiful Disaster - 311
Take My Scars - Machine Head
No One Knows - Queens of The Stone Age

rebellion (lies) - arcade fire (for the beginners :))
mute math - control
mute math - typical
mute math - chaos
mute math - obsolete

and for the songs that people might actually know:
bullet in the head - rage against the machine
superfreak - rick james
lowrider - war
paranoid android - radiohead
how's it going to be - third eye blind
god put a smile on your face - coldplay
eria tarka - the mars volta
sir duke - stevie wonder

On the topic of the controller, it'd be a must that it's at least a foot longer. It's bad enough that the GH controller is so small. If you really want to mess with some heads (guitards), in addition to lefty and righty settings, set it up for drop tunings and multiple strings ;).

Also, if nothing else, thanks for all the good song recommendations. I've probably heard them all, but it's good to have a list to build my library on.

Schism, Lateralus, The Pot-Tool
Ytse Jam, The Dance of Eternity-Dream Theater
YYZ, Working Man, possibly any other song-Rush
Calm Like a Bomb, Testify, Know Your Enemy-Rage against the machine
Anything by Metallica
Cowboys from hell, Mouth for War, possibly some others-Pantera

Actually, most progressive metal and progressive rock stuff, because those bands often really appreciate their bassists... :bassist:

And yeah, the controller definitely should be bigger.

Which models should it come in? Obviously some fender, but I'm thinking maybe rickenbacker, warwick, maybe a singlecut... :D
