Bass Heroes of Post-Punk

Too busy to read the thread atm, I gotta go Jah Wobble who I assume has been mentioned. A great female player I really admire is Malka Spiegel currently in Githead with Colin Newman(Wire) and has done solo work as well as the band Israeli band Minimal Compact.
Highly overlooked Bob Weston (Shellac, Volcano Suns). And I'll throw Tommy Stinson in the hat(The Replacements, GnR). Saw GnR last nite with Tommy on bass and as weird as the idea was to me(long time Mats fan), it does work and didn't suck. His new solo album is good too.

couple other good female players not mentioned(well the first one is) I like for simplicity Patricia Morrison(also played with the Bags, Gun Club and the Damned). Kim Coletta(Jawbox), Laura Balance(Superchunk).
Few more with the other chromosome, David Wm Sims(Scratch Acid, Rapeman the Jesus Lizard), Krist Novelsic(Nirvana), Michael Lee Ivins(Flaming Lips).
Course if people like to split hairs these 'aren't necessarily post punk' but whatever I'm not a genre nazi.

Gender Nazi? It's **** I read like this, that really keeps me from recommending this forum to other Bass players.

3. Siouxsie and the Banshees;
4. Duran Duran;
5. Spandau Ballet;
6. Hell although it was simple U2 had nice cool sounds in my books;
7. The Alarm;
8. B-52s
9. Sisters of Mercy;
10. Bolshoi;
11. The Police;
12. Midge Ure;
13. Jesus and Mary Chain;
14. The Care;
15. Joy Division;
16. David Bowie (new wave - think Labyrinth);
17. A-ha (Take on Me);

wow i think this is the first time on talkbass i have seen mention of tracy pew. the birthday party was my favorite in the early 80's. one of my top five still.
so my list of post punk bassist:
tracy pew (the birthday party)
craig adams (the sisters of mercy)
peter hook (Joy division)
everyone that played with gang of four in the early 80's.
david j. (bauhaus)
david sims (scratch acid) they were like the american version of the birthday party.
ok focus people.
mike watt is my first bass inspiration but he is not post punk he is punk.
