Double Bass Bass in a case on a stand?

I’ve found lots of threads about cases and storing basses but can’t find the information I’m looking for…

I’d like to store my upright in its case but also on a stand? Does anyone else do this or know of a capable stand?

Storing it outside of its case is a no go for me and leaning the bass in a corner is doable but is going to require a lot of rearranging.

Corners are foolproof. Do the rearranging.

I have an Ingles stand that I don't use. It's supposedly for cello and bass, and it seems fine for my cello. My misgiving about the stand is, first of all, it can be a bit tipsy to begin with. And with the bass in its case, it's likely to become front heavy.

I do this all the time with a K&M stand. I adjust the arm’s height so they are at the narrowest point of the body and tuck in the gig bag.

It depends on the kind of case you have, the kind of stand you have and where you can safely put them when they are in use together.

Occasionally after bagging my DB but before packing it in my RV for a trip, I'll stand it on my Ingles stand, but because the bag is bulky I have to use a bungee chord to hold the DB/bag's neck area to the Ingles neck restraint. It works and is safe in the very secluded space where I keep the Ingles, but I wouldn't want to do this routinely. When at home I prefer to have the DB naked on the Ingles so I can get to it multiple times daily for practice.

I also have a K&M folding stand which I like the design of a lot, but I only use it when traveling, and will not use it in any situation that is at all risky -- like outside on windy days or on a busy stage where it might get bumped or otherwise upset. I have used this K&M stand with the DB in its bag, and it works, but honestly when traveling I prefer to just lay the bass on a table or on its side.

BTW, musical instrument stands are God's gift to luthiers.

Standing my DB in a corner might work, but corners are prime real estate in my house, and also I do have pets who feel free to jump or climb on anything that might tickle their fancy. Too risky for me, my DB on the Ingles in its secluded space is actually safer.

My son's cello case stands on it's own - these kind of cases surely exist for DB as well. It's by far the preferred solution.

Mine in its case fits on my Hercules just fine. (My 2d lives in its corner.)

Ohh ok great to know, I had this stand but with a different bass and I never tried it with the case on

Try the Ingles without the foolish neck support. It’s actually easier to use that way

Also, my bass is a 7/8 and the bag a reasonably bulky Tuff Bag.

And when you wear through the foamy padding on the arms, and it’s time to replace the hoses to your washing machine anyway, use

chunks of the old ones to replace the Ingles padding

I had my bass naked in a faux corner built by a wall and a closet. Works with a bag too.
Bass in the bag works with my Hercules stand, but is a bit heavy to lift. And it is a 4/4 5-string, but not too much padding at the bag.
A hard case either stands by itself or shouldn‘t at all.
Wouldn‘t trust an Ingles at all or similar built stands.

Bass Bar is a very good stand. Takes up more space than some other options but works with either an extended endpin or a bass-in-a-case. Probably both if that’s your thing

You can put the bass in the case on the stand, but where can you safely put the stand? In the corner!
