Bass in rap music

I love rap bass because it's not complicated, but still requires impeccable technique and solid groove.

Those bands are in my eyes on the same level if not even worse than the bands you first mentioned, Hip Hop was the first kind of music i really started listening to, but not the kind of "hip hop" mentioned above,artists like J Dilla, Nujabes, Roots Manuva, Dj Food, Dj shadow, RZA,... are in my opinion better than paramore or evanescence or any of those artist you mentioned. (and yeah I also like rock and roll)

Rap is music. I liked it more back in the day when they were hungry and actually had real problems to rap about. Rap lost it's honesty for the most part, although I would still pay money to see the Roots and Mod Def.

I figured more bass players would be into rap. It's a great genre to listen to and should inspire you to pick up your bass.

It's old school, but I've always really REALLY liked Ice T's Invalid Link Removed. The song lends itself well to many styles of playing.
