for me it's kinda strange, as I cannot descipher how the bass line goes, and sometimes, it's just "bum bum bum" with tone changes but no "notes" changes...
Bassdirty said:I dont mind the rap of the late 80s/early 90s.there was almost an innocence(sp?) to it.
Nowadays everyones gotta be all "hard" or bada$$.
Then theres the crossover to the .."top 40 rappy...r&b"..whatever you call it(I call it 13 yr old girl music)..all that stuff that is popular for 18 hours and rammed down your throat the whole time..its soooo cliche now, and the same formula over..n over...n over.
The good thing is ,it can't last forever(I hope)..almost like what happened to glam in the late 80's.
Hmmm..but what will take its place..wheres the nirvana/pearl jam of today?
JMO?..rant over.
But yeah, some rap has/(had) cool bass lines.
You say Justin Bieber,I say PARAMORE!!!
You say Lady Gaga,I say Evanescence
You say Miley Cyrus,I say Slipknot
You say T-Pain,I say Three Days Grace
You say Emenem,I say Linkin Park
You say Jonas Brother,Isay Green Day
your either too too old/ ignorant/ deaf or possibly racist.
To say all rap is terrible based on something you're hearing on the radio
is EXACTLY THE SAME
as saying all rock is terrible based on hearing Nickelback on the radio.
it's not the genre
it's that you're listening to the radio
Might there also be a slight chance that I have different tastes than you?
Rap and hip hop was one of the most most important things to happento music in the late 20th century, if you cant see whats GREAT about it your either too too old/ ignorant/ deaf or possibly racist. yep.. im serious.

You need good musicianship & creativity to do that, believe me, it's not that easy to make good 'sample based' music.Rockmusician said:..sampling and looping which requires absolutely no musicianship or creativity. .
