Bass Machine Heads - Help me!

Hello everyone, first post here. I'm looking for specific bass machine heads. I need some that are small like guitar machine heads. Also, they should have a pentagon shape to them as opposed to a half circle shape. I need some like the ones in this picture. It looks like there is a logo of the brand of the tuners (I see stripes like a flag almost). Thanks in advance!

The images could be better. It is difficult to make out the logo. However, from what can be seen in the shadows they seem to indicate the tuners were manufactured by Ping.

I found these but they're for guitar...gotoh's, didn't see this style for bass though...don't know if it would work or not but maybe you could just swap the heads if you can't find them?

Yeah, I'm looking for something in that style but for bass. Swap the heads? I know the holes would be a different size for guitar vs bass. Do you mean replacing the "stick" where the strings go through?

Ok, update. I found out where these tuners come from. They're from a Danelectro Hodad bass. The danelectro page says they're "Gotoh style" tunners, but I've serached Gotoh everywhere and can't find the exact model. But now I know they exist independantly. I emailed danelectro today.

Hi.

I am new here . I hope it is ok to post this question here. Is it a big deal if that little plastic washer on the tuning peg comes of ? thanks

Welcome to TalkBass icman.

The washer is there for a reason, so if You have anything else to order from Allparts or similar vendor, or if you're in a decent music shop, IMHO you should get a set.

Quite a few tuners on the budget side of the spectrum tend to lose those washers, My cheapo 6er for example is missing 2 ATM IIRC.

The washer(s) adjusts the backlash on the gear, and the plastick one acts as a bearing, so not having the washer may eventually wear the wheel of the worm gear a little bit more than when it's not there.

Regards
Sam
