Now, normally I'd be predisposed to agree with you, especially since I originally heard that as the punchline to the query concerning lead singers.
However, times...they are a' changin'.
This is a Bass forum, and I feel pretty confident that very few members here think the world revolves around lead singers! 
Judging by some of the replies to recent threads, it seems obvious whom has ascended to that lofty perch.
As far as your version of the bassists involved, I only have a slight disagreement. It should be 5, as Jaco only needed 4...............bassists debating his methods.
This way we're not as bad as guitarists, of which it requires 7.

I used to have these. Quite sure they still are somewhere in the house, but I've lost packaging.
Why waste money on air strings when you could just grab a new guitar?
