My name is Greg and I am just starting out with bass guitar. I have been playing guitar for about 10 years, but I have always wanted to learn bass. I guess 2009 is as good a time to start as any! I'll be taking lessons as well as trying to follow a lot of the advice that I have read while lurking around TB as far as what to do and what not to do when starting out. From what I've read so far this is a really well put together forum with many knowledgeable people. Thanks in advance for all the stuff I'm sure I'll pick up reading here.

Glad to hear your are getting lessons. That will help build a good foundation and keep you from getting set in any bad habits, like so many newbies do.
