Bass Photography!

This was about a month ago on a rainy day, and the rain stopped for a while and was beautiful outside. I have a simple Sony Cyber Shot digital camera.

That thing there just oozes sex and rock and roll! Very nice indeed.

Not wanting to spoil the party but... the focus of the thread was your best bass photography, not showing special basses or all you have regardless of the photographic quality.

+1

Good point, but worth considering that aside from shots of someone's basses taken in a generally unartistic way, you've got to consider that what some folks see as a standard photo of bass on a 'wild' carpet from the 70s, or chair or stained bedspread come to think about it, can be considered as 'art' by some folks: it's all in the eye of the beholder and that's the great thing about photography!

Those two are great!
Did you shoot them, or is it you in the picture? Analog? Digital? Original BW or postprocessed?

Hey there Oli - glad you liked the pics. The pictures are of me playing and they were taken in a friend's photographic studio (Link Removed), who was interested in shots of musicians. I recall that they were shot on a Nikon D200 with various lenses. The b/w is post-processed on my MacBook Pro using iPhoto - I like Aperture but it's overkill for an amateur like me :D

Thanks Oli, I bought a new lens recently but have yet to try it out I'll snap some pics when i have the time. :D

Looking forward to them!

I thought they looked mighty professional :)
Regarding iPhoto, I used to use Photoshop for almost ten years, but since the last version of iPhoto I rarely use anything else.

I darkened this up in iPhoto, to give it the patina it has acquired to this point...

Thought this picture was cool - playing with some sort of reverse effect...

Pictures were taken with an Olympus Camedia D-560, hand-held as I recall. I'm inspired by all of the great pictures in this post, and will start using the tripod, and timer suggestions.
