Trevor Bolder's mediocre? I think he's great. Yeah, Uriah Heep's day was long ago, but the guy still plays great and has something to say. I enjoyed his article, too. Go back and listen to some of that old Bowie that he played on. Really creative stuff.

Oh geez, I thought you were talking about the cover story on him for the October issue. My apologies. Well Justin, looks like you just entered the "bass legend" pantheon. And you didn't even have to wank!

No worries, I should have been less cryptic in my original post. I figured at least Justin would have known what I was talking about. Having never been on the cover of a magazine myself (yet? ha!), I guess I just assumed that they would have given him a heads-up before putting his mug on there again...

Justin, is recognition from your bass playing peers and cover stories in BP really important to you in the long run? I kind of get the impression from you that you're a guy who is more concerned about playing some good music, having some fun, and making some money, and if recognition from BP and your peers comes or not, life goes on as long as you keep busy and do quality work. Would that be a fair assessment, or is it more important to you than it would seem on the surface?

Actually important to me? No. Humbling? Yes.

You're basically right. But the real issue is that I'm being placed on the cover with people that have mastered the instrument far more than I, though I'm not familiar with the girl above me in the picture.

So being in that kind of company, I suppose, that's the humbling part.

lol yeah you and me both! If I could grow a fro I would in a second. I'd be buying color coordinated hair picks and beads...sheeit...the whole nine! I've got fro envy, and i've got it bad (Supah bad) :cool:

Man, fro envy? When I was 13 (1983), the fro was my worst enemy. How far away from looking like Duran Duran can one get? A fro. Girls were NOT down, though eventually they were. My point being, I'm scarred for life. ;-) Now thankfully there's a balance between people who laugh at me vs. people who give me the thumbs up.
