Add into this a crappy mix and a drummer who has so many overtones and is mixed so crappy that every time you hit a G, the entire room would resonate and and everyone would yell at ME to turn down cause I was too loud....

of course, so much of the rest of this stuff applies...

With a B|Amp you can specifically notch out that G, attenuating it up to -12dB. It works.
