Bass purchases for 2011

This year I plan on buying everything I need to assemble a parts-P bass.

A Fender MIM P-body.
A Mighty Mite P-bass Neck.
A Gotoh 201 Bridge
A set of Sandberg Adjustable Tension Tuners.
Some CTS Pots.
A switchcraft jack.
and a Bill Lawrence P46 pickup.

If this build turns out to be half as good as what I'm hoping, it's going to rock. :bassist:

For the Fender MIM p-body I'd reccomend this guy:
http://stores.ebay.ca/The-STRATosphere

He sells aftermarket Fender stuff. Bridges, pots, tuners, necks, bodies, all that good stuff. I bought my neck and body from him, along with the authentic Fender stuff I needed for my build.

If you search under 'fender precision body', you'll find some MIM bodies for around 200. Much easier than shopping around locally, IMO.

That's exactly what I'm doing. :D

I'm going with a Mighty Mite neck because of the 15" fretboard radius, can't get that on a Fender neck.

But yeah "reliablefender" is who I plan on buying the body from.

Doing my second warmoth build with a little more education this time around...doing an Ash 5 string P bass body (color undecided), Flame maple neck with rosewood finger board with a vintage tint finish, Aguilar OPB2 preamp with Aguilar 5 String Jazz pickups...yeah yeah a p bass with j bass pickups, flame me if you must...i like the sound of the j, but the look and balance of a p...unsure if i will have someone cut a pick guard for me yet...

I've got my sights set on a Invalid Link Removed (the single-coil version), but it's going to take a while to get there. I want to downsize my stable first, and deciding what to sell is hard.:crying:

I could also see myself going for a Ric 4003, but that would mean getting rid of yet another bass first.

one new bass this year and it will be a US Lakland BG4.
Quoted for posterity's sake, Aaron.:D

Well, my beloved Zon Lightwave fretless 5 went to my buddy who has been bugging me to buy it for going on 11 years now. My Lull sold a few days ago so I'm down to 3 basses. Actually that is a reasonable number, but for whatever reason I ordered up a pair of Skjolds that should be done in '11. So 5 basses will be a reasonable number unless one or more of the four "regular" basses really standout. The Deep 5 stays.

I'm gunning for one of two basses.

A used transparent blue MIA Fender Jazz Deluxe V or used transparent blue Precision Deluxe V with the dual jazz pickups at the bridge. I'll grab whichever one I can stumble across first.

I'd also like a new amp and I'm thinking an Ampeg w/Eden cabs.

I'm eagerly waiting to see what Fender releases at NAMM for the 60th birthday of the P bass. Been gassing for a 51 slab SC in butterscotch, blond, etc., just not sunburst.

Also want a new 15in cab to go with my Little Bastard......probably an Orange, maybe an Ashdown. We'll see what gets announced an NAMM! :bassist:
