Bass purchases for 2011

This is the year I hope to get back into playing with a band and gigging. My only bass is an SX P bass I got in early 2007.

I'm having a hard time deciding between an MIM Pbass and a Squier CV P-bass. I'm also considering the Squier VM Jaguar bass, but the necks are a bit thin for me and I've never been too crazy about most P/J basses I've owned or played.

Due to the fact that I love the necks, and that they are more affordable, I will probably score a Squier CV P-bass. I wish they came in more color options, but I can live with it.

After that financial hurdle, I plan to save up and sell off a few things to fund a good amp rig.

I will be on here asking for advice when I get to that point. It's been many years since I've gigged and a lot of new products have hit the market in that time.

Started getting a lot more gigs so now I really need some "pro" quality gear:

Hopefully a Lakland 55-94 (or another bass that will just blow people away with its awesome tone), 4x10 Cab, and some sort of head (probably an SVT-Pro)

Well... i'm actually good on basses, good on amps, good on cabs... GAS is fairly low... But i AM getting adventurous... after my "peavey T2000" and "Fender MATTStang" projects, i've been bitten by the modification bug...

so... though i doubt it'll happen this year... i want to build this:

Aside from that... i want a VT Bass pedal, and a Catalinbread SFT pedal... :smug:

I'm probably the 150th person here to tell you this, but the VT Bass is the best pedal ever made. Sounds awesome at home, on recordings, at rehearsal and at gigs (well, that last part referring to the one small, private gig I did with it before my band split, but I'm sure others will chime in with actual gigging experiences ;) ).

Me, I'm this close to pulling the trigger on an Ibanez SRX725. Twin alnico (almost-)MM-sized humbuckers with neck-thru Ibanez ergonomics and really good looks... Yum. Probably change the preamp, though (although that'll only happen once my SR4005's has been fixed or replaced -- no way in hell am I taking the risk to find myself with two basses that I can't play).
