Bass recording - what's your chain??

Bass (Martin Keith)>MarkBass Compressore>Avalon U5>Focusrite Liquid Saffire 56>iMac i5>Logic 9... The U5 is DI'ed into channel 1 of the LS56, which is a stripped down Liquid Channel.

Along the way, I will run it through whatever effects I might be using.

Today it's:

JB-> U5-> (dry out to) Sansamp RBI -> (dry out to) Eleven instrument in:

U5 -> dbx 166sx (L) -> Eleven line in (L)
RBI -> dbx 166sx (R) -> Eleven line in (R)
Eleven -> Classic bass (typically)

ProTools:

Track 1: Eleven instrument in (dry for reamping)
Track 2: U5 (mono)
Track 3: RBI (mono)
Track 4: Eleven rig output (stereo)

Check back tomorrow and it'll probably be something different. (track 5 anyone?)

Rock: Bass - Sansamp PSA-1 (SVT setting) - Mackie Onyx Blackbird - Logic

Jazz/Folk/Country: Bass - ART Pro Channel II (high voltage mode, with minor adjustments to both EQ and compression) - Mackie Onyx Blackbird - Logic

Unspecified: Bass - Mackie Onyx Blackbird - Logic

Once the file is in Logic, it goes through the following:

Airwindows ToTape2 - Airwindows Desk2 - Logic Channel EQ - Logic Compressor - Logic DistII - Airwindows ConsoleChannel

On some tracks, mostly rock, I'll add in a Red Wirez Ampeg SVT 810e impulse response with either Logic's Space Designer, or Red Wirez IR Mattix, and tweak the mic combination/mix to fit the vibe I'm after.
