Bass through Eden WT box Straight to PA?

I've been rehearsing going straight through the PA and it seems to be working for me. I really like the thought of showing up for gigs with just my bass and the Eden WT direct box. Do I really need one of those Bass Amps bigger then I am when I play live? We play classic rock. All thoughts welcome. Thanks guys.

Your monitor should have the things you need to hear. Your own sound of course, plus the singer, and if your bandleader plays keyboard chords or rhythm guitar, you might want a little of him too. Probably don't need the drummer. :)

Recently went to the US to do some shows around LA. Amp hire was too much so I picked up one of the Eden WTDI units and went direct each time we played. Four different venues with completely different PA systems. Sounded great at all of them, and even at the one place where there were no monitors I could hear myself all the same just fine.

I think the least I would be comfortable running this setup with is a pair of 15s.. Add a sub and monitors, though, and it's a no brainer. I've run it through a pair of powered 12s for a quiet gig with two acoustics and a vocalist, though, and I thought it was just fine.
