There are no specific bass tuners by my knowlegde, but not any one will do. Cheap tuners are a waste of money. So buy the SONIC RESEARCH ST-200

Expensive ($ 130) , but the best. A strobe tuner, the only one that beats the human ear.

T.C. Electronic recently launched their Polytune. BRILLIANT - it will tune ALL your strings at the same time - to my knowledge at least up to 6 strings at a time...

And yes it is also a Bass tuner ... I've tried it ... works brilliant

I use the Intellitouch tuner, that clamps on the headstock of an electric bass or the bridge of my upright. Seven octave range, tunes to A440 or anything else you want to program. No wires, has a nice carrying case, won't pick up ambient sounds and it's fifty bucks. It swivels around to a bunch of positions so you can see it easily. Some people leave it clamped on, but turned off, while playing so they can easily re-tune. I carry it in my back pocket while setting up so I remember the last thing to do before playing is tuning.

The intellitouch is a good tuner, works good on acoustic instruments too.

If you're doing setup work, for other than yourself > Peterson R490

I own a peterson stroboflip as well, a very accurate tuner.

If you're looking for a rack tuner for gigs, most of the Korg tuners will fit the bill.

Sorry but I don't see the point in buying a 120 dollar super tuner, unless your one of those dudes who just needs have on in his rack so that he can haul more stuff to gigs and have more blinky lights on stage....It's not like anyone else is going to be that meticulously in tune.

Buy a 15 dollar tuner from Sam Ash/Guitar Center...just pick one with an interface you like. Or if you can tune by ear just buy a metronome with one of those "A" sin-wave features and kill two birds with one stone.

Hey, most guitar tuners are able to tune a bass too, well from previous tuners they did. Some however, struggled to pick up de tuning such as the C. I would recommend not to go for a cheap one, or even use an online bass tuner. Try Invalid Link Removed. Pretty cool and has pre set tunings too.
