I've got a hankerin for a BassVI style instrument and trying to figure out all of my options. This will be 6-string, guitar tuned, with ~30" scale.
So far I've got (ir order of approx cost)

Anything I'm missing I should add to the list?

Are you considering used? There’s the Mosrite shaped Danelectro Hodad 6-string bass…

Or if you had the inclination, build one from Warmouth parts. That way you could eliminate the Jazzmaster/Jag style whammy bridge set-up if desired, and also start from scratch with the pickup/electonics layout if you want to try something different. I’ve had the Dano, and a Squier VI, they were fine in their own ways, but the crowded string spacing got on my nerves, so I let go of them.

Oh, I’ve gone looking for such things. Thanks for the link.

Dunable makes a Swervedriver and has some other custom options using a few of their body shapes. Starting prices are $3,200.

Edit.
Scroll for the semi custom Swervedriver. However the link to the specific page is 404.

Anyone ever compare a baritone with a bass vi?

Almost seems like you could modify a strat into a baritone tuned to A for a poor man’s version. You give up low E but I mean it’s already a centaur of an instrument to begin with.

Always wanted a bass vi. Been giving hard look at the Squire. Kinda glad there is no MIA. I bet you might be able to build one for less than the Vintera. Maybe.
