It could be a bad component in your amp, that changes characteristics due to built up heat.

Possible, but that usually goes the other way. More heat, less working good. Fire bad.

This totally depends on the type and function of the component. A faulty component with a limiting function that fails due to heat...

Yup. That's why I said "possible" and "usually."
I was allowing for the exception to the rule.
Though again, it is MORE LIKELY that an overheated component, even in a limiter circuit, will cause the limiter to fail in the "pass no signal" mode rather than the "pass full signal" mode.

ok so at several gigs my bass gets louder as the night goes on..I dont any settings..anyone have any thoughts about this?.. thanks

Striking the strings harder or the sound man is turning you up as the night goes on. Maybe you play "better" to him later in the show?

Haven't been able to buy amplified heat since Pressed Rat and Warthog closed down their shop.
