For those of you who live in the northwest, Christina Vee and Stephanie Sheh are going to be at Sakura-con. They are voicing Mio and Yui from K-ON! In the English dub.
This is especially true with the songs from K-on!; there's official score books but they're actually pretty far off on a lot of stuff (not just on the bass side), meaning they probably weren't transcribed by the actual performers. Unfortunately most of the tabs that exist on the net now are taken from those official score books.
really? I can understand it for features like Kung-Fu Panda and the likes that use a lot of Computer generated graphics, but, for anime, is the animation/Special Features that much better on Blu-Ray?
Well, to be honest, I haven't compared any new animated movies/shows on blu-ray vs dvd. But I do know that the difference in quality with older animated movies (like older Disney stuff) looks much, much better on Blu-ray.
I can see it with Disney considering it is done with their older catalog. However with the animation style of K-on. I am not sure how well it would trans-late to Blu-Ray. The show generally does not show lots of detail except for a few scenes. The Instruments in opening sequence is really the only time i can think that HD would help. However, I am probably wrong.
Kyoto Animation has really beautiful artwork, I think any anime they work on is worth getting on blu-ray, especially Clannad/Kanon.

Sorry I don't look much like Mio! We'll try to do the full version at our next gig, with our new sax player doing the opening guitar riff. This was at a hole in the wall bar that only had one working mic because most of their mic cables got stolen, which they realized 20 minutes before we were supposed to start. Lots of fun anyway! Got a great crowd reaction too, as it always does. A few people asking what language that was.

That was pretty cool. Both of the girls sounded good, but the girl who was in the shadow and you couldn't really see has a wonderful voice.

Thanks! She doesn't always hide in the shadows, just at that gig. She had a hangover so she probably wanted to avoid lights in her eyes. Didn't seem to affect her singing any, though.

Bass sounds pretty good but I'd really like to hear some electric in there. Some songs just need it, IMO.
Yeah it's just a fail on the translator's part.
Sometimes people are more concerned with the accuracy of a translation than they are of how it will sound in the end. Good translations involve a lot of paraphrasing.
